Headquartered in Kenilworth, Illinois, the Puppy Mill Project is a nonprofit organization that has been working to eliminate the devastating effects of puppy mills. Puppy mills are facilities that focus on profit, often to the detriment of the puppies’ health and well-being. Cari Meyers founded the Puppy Mill Project in 2009 to educate the public about the harm caused to animals in puppy mills.

The organization is supported by numerous volunteers who work tirelessly in support of the nonprofit’s mission. Volunteers speak on the dangers of puppy mills at youth camps, schools, and various community events. Additionally, volunteers organize and participate in peaceful protests, demonstrations, and walk-bys at pet shops that are supplied by puppy mills. The Puppy Mill Project also advertises to raise public awareness and conducts advocacy work with local and state governments. To learn more and get involved, visit www.thepuppymillproject.org.
